If you're a Disney Parks fan like me, this treat needs no introduction!
If you aren't sure what this is, as soon as you can, please make a trip to a Disney Park to experience this yourself! Until then, read below!
My Experience
I had this Dole Whip last time I was at Disney World (Orlando, FL) in October of 2019. I was in Orlando for work and I was blessed with coworkers that wanted to go to Disney for the day. One of my friends (who was also a coworker) and I shared food most of the day so we could enjoy as much of the Disney Delicious-ness as possible, and this classic hit the spot when we stopped for it in the afternoon! After taking our Instagram photos (how can you not? lol) we probably downed this in under 10 minutes EASY! This pineapple ice cream treat is so simple, yet Disney does it so well.
Stuck at Home? Try this recipe I used!
Obviously right now leisure travel isn't much of a thing, and even though I could *technically* get on a plane to Florida right now since I live in the states, Disney is closed anyways. So what can we do in the meantime?
I found out that Disney had released their recipe so I had to try it for myself!
What do I need?
- 4 ounces of Pineapple juice (I used Dole's frozen pineapple juice)
- 2 cups of frozen pineapple
- 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream (I used Bryer's classic vanilla)
- & a Blender
Steps:
- Throw everything in the blender, and blend until smooth
(Once recipe I looked at, mentioned if you want to swirl it in a cone, to fill a star tipped pastry bag with the dole whip and then swirl into cone)
Outcome:
Super fun & easy to make! took in total maybe 5 minutes to put together, and is perfect for the warmer weather!
How does it compare to Disney's? I will still always get one from Disney, but for being stuck at home, this is a very close second that I could see myself making quite often!
I might try a few different variations as well, such as:
- fresh vs. frozen pineapples
- spiking it with some rum for an adult version
- different kinds of vanilla ice cream, which I am sure will change the flavor up!
Hope you enjoy the recipe if you decide to try this! And if you try this yourself, let me know your thoughts, and your different variations!
