Do I miss sports, or the stadiums?

As we are all probably missing some aspects of the spring/summer I was looking back at old photos and saw snaps from last year, when my husband and I would go to the Mariners (Seattle's baseball team) games quite often throughout the season. I do miss going and watching them play, especially since I grew up in a small town in the midwest, and the baseball games were just not at the same tier.

But then as I started to go through more of the snaps, I realized I had a different drink, or snack in my hand (yes I am one of THOSE girls that snaps all the food lol). And it got me thinking...do I miss watching the sport? Or do I miss the experience of watching it in the stadium?

While the sport is super fun to watch, and one of the few that for me is truly engaging, I think the reason so many of us love going to the games is the whole experience. Getting to eat the junkiest food while watching the game, and the sun beating down on you. Watching the fireworks at the end of the game, even the noise of everyone around is something that I truly miss.

There are other ways to enjoy sports that we miss right now- watching old clips or past games, sport documentaries, or even going out and playing the game ourselves with those in our household. But it's hard to replicate the experience of watching the game in the person, in the stadium.

Dear Seattle Mariners,

We miss you.

xoxo
